Vegetable Biryani
Ingredients
400 g | Seasonal vegetables |
cauliflower | |
broccoli | |
carrot | |
onion | |
beans | |
etc | |
200 g | brown rice |
200 g | basmati rice |
600 ml | water |
4 cloves | garlic |
1 tsp | cumin powder |
1 tsp | pepper |
3 tsp | garam marsala |
1/4 tsp chili | |
1 | bay leaf |
6 | cloves |
Instructions
Finely chop the vegetables. Briefly fry the bay leaf and cloves in vegetable oil before adding the vegetables and garlic. Stir fry until a bit soft. Add the rice and stir fry a bit longer, while adding the spices. After one or two minutes add the water, stir and bring to a boil. Once boiling put on a low fire and let it simmer until the water has gone under the surface. Turn off the fire and let it rest for 15 minutes.
