Moussaka
Ingredients
Make gyros spyce:
2 tsp | salt |
1/4 tsp | thyme |
2 tsp | basil |
2 tsp | oregano |
1 tsp | peper |
1.5 tsp | cumin |
2 tsp | coriander |
1/2 tsp | piment |
1/2 tsp | chilli powder |
1/4 tsp | cinnamon |
1/2 tsp | turmeric |
2 tsp | paprika powder |
Rest of the ingredients:
2 cloves | garlic |
250 g | Greek yoghurt |
3 | eggs |
hand | ground cheese |
250 g | minced meat (lamb or beef) |
2 | potatoes |
1 can | tomatoes |
1 | big onion |
2 | medium courgettes |
oil |
Instructions
Cut the union and courgettes in cubes or slices.
Fry the minced meat in some oil while stirring well. Add the garlic and after a couple of minutes the union and the rest of the spices. Add the tomatoes when the unions have become glazy. Let it simmer for about half an hour with the lid tilted open.
In the mean while first cook the potatoes until done and stir fry the courgettes. Mix the yoghurt with the eggs and the cheese, and preheat the oven on 175 C.
Grease a baking dish and put the potato slices on the bottom. Now add layers of courgette and sauce, on top the bechamel sause. Now it is ready to go into the oven until it's brown (about 50 minutes)
