Biryani
Serves 6
Ingredients
| 2 | onions |
| 2 | tomatoes |
| 4 cm | ginger |
| 4 | cloves garlic |
| 200 g | vegetables of choice |
| 500 g | chicken or mutton |
| 450 g | rice (mix basmati and brown} |
| 650 g | water |
| 2 sp | biryani massala |
Instructions
- Blend the ginger and garlic to a paste, add some oil if needed to support the blending.
- Fry the meat separately until light brown.
- Saute the onion together with the garlic and ginger paste, before adding the additional vegies and fry a while longer.
- Add the tomatoes, biryani massala and salt to taste and fry some minutes more.
- Add the rice and and meat and water and bring to a boil. Turn the heat low when boiling and give it a stir to mix everything.
- Turn the heat off once the water is no longer visible on top of the rice and let it rest for 15 or 20 minutes before serving.
